There seems to be a problem with the portal. FYI --Walter 00:04, 22. Jan 2006 (UTC)

Why? Looks just fine to me. --Chlämens 02:17, 22. Jan 2006 (UTC)
Strange. I see something different I think. See "Datei:Wikipedia-ch-portal-screenshot.png" This is what I get web requestion of The other portals; .be, .nl .dk work fine. Notice the url. It redirects to (double //)
FireFox 1.0.7 Linux/Ubuntu --Walter 15:16, 22. Jan 2006 (UTC)
It isn't strange at all - except for the source code. Chlämens uses Internet Eplorer, which ignores the strange syntax of the inclusion of the style sheet. Firefox - and this means every Gecko-based browser - doesn't ignore.
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="" />
While MSIE ignores &action=raw, Gecko does not and so it doesn't recognize the style sheet. Analyzing it with HTML-Tidy one get a warning of an unknown entity, although the syntax is formally correct,
So maybe it would be a good idea for Chlämens to use a variety of browsers instead of the only one, which is on the hate list of other administrators of ;-)
I have tested with the following browsing engines on my SUSE-Linux-System:
* Gecko 1.8 (eg. Firefox 1.5) - ignores the styles
* Gecko 1.7x (e.g. Firefox 1.0x, Epiphany 1.6) - ignores the styles
* Opera 8.51 (Presto) - uses the styles in the intended way
* MSIE 6.0 (Trident, using crossover and wine) - uses the styles in the intended way
* KHTML 3.4 (Konqueror 3.4) - uses the styles in the intended way
So we can assume, that the KTHML-based Safari-Browser on Mac OS X will also use the styles correctly.
Although only Gecko displays the page not as intended, it is not a Gecko bug. It is bug in the site's own syntax, which is repaired in other browsers because of their intern code correction mode.
Bugfix: delete &action=raw in the syntax of the site.
note to Walter: Beside upgrading to Firefox 1.5 the following extensions may be very useful for you for site analysis purposes:
web developer toolbar
view rendered source chart
HTML Validator
resize search box (if the search box of Firefox is too small)

The links have been fixed (&ctype=text/css is necessary for Gecko); see MediaZilla:4270! Thank you very much for giving us this information! --- Best regards, Melancholie 23:32, 22. Jan 2006 (UTC)
Jetzt bin i abr froh, dass jemand die richtige Stell gfunna het, um des a' de richtig Person zu brenga. have been fixed wa haißt no des? I hans Problem a mit Win XP un Firefox 1.07 un s'haet sich nüt bessret. --KaPe 20:13, 23. Jan 2006 (UTC)
"Have been fixed" hoißt, dass a korigyrte Version zum uffelaade vorligt; lueg MediaZilla:4270. --- MfG, Melancholie 20:33, 23. Jan 2006 (UTC)
Jetzt heb i mir 's mit IE 6 agluuegt. Un i siah, dass de Inhalt nit konsistent isch. Die 5. Landessproch (s'Aenglisch) het en Suechknopf, stoaht aber oba net dren. Die 1a (:als:) und 4te (:rm:) Sproache stehn oba, hent abr koan Suechknopf. --KaPe 20:20, 23. Jan 2006 (UTC)
Änglisch hot oba kuin Platz, und isch ou kui "Huimatschprôch" vo dr Schwyz. A Suechfeald isch aber gschickt. Bi "als" und "rm" werred Suechaafrôge wohl no zue 99% ins Leere gong, drum langet der Kaschte unda rechts, wur i saage. --- MfG, Melancholie 20:33, 23. Jan 2006 (UTC)
